Federal Judge Grants Iran's Request For Interest, Fees On International Award

SAN DIEGO - After the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals remanded a ruling denying a motion for interest and fees filed by the Ministry of Defense and Support for the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran (MOD) for reconsideration, a California federal judge on Jan. 3 granted the MOD's request, finding that it was entitled to fees and interest on an international arbitration award issued in its favor (Ministry of Defense and Support for the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran v. Cubic Defense Systems Inc., et al., No. 98-CV-1165-B, S.D. Calif.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 1625).Full story on lexis.com
