Meet the big timesaver that delivers lexis.com® within your firm’s portal: LexisNexis® SharePoint® Web Parts

Stay within your firm's Microsoft® SharePoint® environment and gain access to the content and functionality of lexis.com® resources that your firm uses most-without directly going to the lexis.com site.

With LexisNexis® SharePoint Web Parts, ease of use can be the new reality for law firms, with customizable Web parts created to gain access to the LexisNexis resources you use most-ShepardizingTM a citation; ordering and receiving one or many Shepard's® reports or full-text legal documents; tracking cases, finding topical news articles and browsing treatises. Even gain access to CourtLink® Web parts to gain access to CourtLink and Alert results.

It's never been simpler or more secure to tap into lexis.com without actually signing in to the service. You can choose how your users will get to the Web parts, choosing one of two options:

  • the almost-automatic SSS/SSO method that doesn't require authentication, or
  • the cookie method that involves the ID and Password sign-in screen.

Either way, it's streamlined accessibility to your firm's Web parts.

What's Available?

You can tailor your firm's intranet portal or practice-area landing page with the Web parts that your firm wants readily available. Your firm's users use the Web parts without entering lexis.com and can preview content of a target database before starting a billable session.

There is no cost for SharePoint Web parts if the content you've selected is included in your current LexisNexis subscription. No research charges are incurred until lexis.com is actually used.

Your SharePoint administrator downloads the chosen Web parts and, depending on preference or practice area, will configure common properties of the Web parts, for example, Sign-On Type, Company Client IDs, Client ID popup, Maximum Number of TOC Sources as links and more.

Once the SharePoint installer is run, your SharePoint administrator can individually download the Web parts you want. Presently, you can choose from:

  • Get & Print-Order delivery of single or multiple citation;
  • Table of Contents (treatises)-Browse and search the table of contents or the full text of these secondary sources. This Web part is customizable;
  • Shepard's® Citations Service-Retrieve Shepard's reports and the full functionality of lexis.com;
  • lexis.com General Search (customizable)-Search pre-selected, customizable sources;
  • CourtLink Alerts-Specify your criteria for a Litigant and/or Nature of Suit alert and link to more details about the docket, party, law firm/attorney or judge (see next page);
  • CourtLink Track-State your criteria and view existing dockets of interest. Link to the CourtLink docket from this Web part as well.
