PCLaw Version 11 from LexisNexis Now
Accessible Via Mobile Devices and Integrates with Intuit QuickBooks
June 6, 2011 - NEW YORK, NY -
LexisNexis (www.lexisnexis.com), a leading global provider of content-enabled
workflow solutions, today announced the launch of a new mobile application for
PCLaw®, a leading legal billing and accounting software offering for law firms.
The mobile application is offered as part of LexisNexis® PCLaw® version 11
software, which gives legal professionals a set of robust, yet easy-to-use
tools to effectively manage time and expenses, billing and receivables, trust
accounting, case and matter information and more. Today's release marks the
latest in a range of mobile solutions from LexisNexis launched this year that
enable lawyers to improve productivity and efficiency of their legal practice
while they are on the go.
"PCLaw version 11 users can
access the system anytime, from any location where their web-enabled mobile
device has Internet connectivity. This helps today's law firm personnel work
the way they want, enabling remote time and expense data entry as they occur to
more accurately capture billable time, help speed up the billing cycle and
improve cash flow," said Michael Lipps, vice president and managing
director, Legal Business Software Solutions for LexisNexis.
The mobile service is compatible
with Apple® iPad®, Apple® iPhone®,
BlackBerry® and AndroidTM-based devices. No special
software needs to be installed on the user's mobile device and no cables or
synching are required to receive the most current information in the system.
Also, data is encrypted end-to-end between the mobile device and the server,
but is not stored on the device in order to better preserve information
security.
In addition to offering a mobile
solution, PCLaw version 11 software now integrates with Intuit®
QuickBooks®, providing users the ability to export all PCLaw
accounting data into one of the most widely used small business accounting
applications on the market.
"PCLaw provides attorneys the
legal-specific trust accounting, financial reporting and flexible matter
management tools they need to keep their practice running smoothly but that are
not offered by generic accounting software," added Lipps. "By integrating PCLaw
access with QuickBooks, users' gain superior legal-specific billing and trust
accounting capabilities without having to abandon the accounting software that
is used by so many smaller law firms today."
Other system upgrades to PCLaw
version 11 include new security features that allow law firms to better
restrict access to sensitive data stored within the system.
Both the upgrade to PCLaw version 11
software and mobile access are available at no additional cost to customers
that have an active PCLaw Annual Maintenance Plan. More information about PCLaw
version 11 software and the new PCLaw® Mobility service is available
