Addison M. Bowman is professor emeritus, Richardson School of Law, University of Hawaii at Manoa. Bowman served as reporter to a 1978-79 Hawaii Judicial Council committee that drafted evidence rules, and to a committee of the 1979 Hawaii Legislature that issued evidence rules for enactment. He wrote the commentaries to HRE. Bowman currently serves as reporter to the Hawaii Supreme Court's Standing Committee on Rules of Evidence.

Professor Bowman has served on the Hawaii State Judicial Conference, and was Project Director for the Hawaii Judicial Council Committee on Penal Code Revision and Reform, and belongs to the American Inn of Court. He received his LL.B. from Dickinson School of Law and LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center. He is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit, and Hawaii Bars.
