Print Your Research Cost-Effectively

Posted by

It's easy to cost-effectively deliver the research documents you need through LexisNexis®.

1.       As you look at research results in Cite, KWIK™, Full or Custom view:
  • Click the button or link toward the top-right area of your screen for FAST Print, Print, Download, Fax or Email.
or
  • Click the Text Only link to view and print or save only the text of the browse page.

2.       For Print, Download, Fax, and Email, provide the information on the form that appears. Then submit your delivery request.

What’s the best option for you? It depends on your needs—from delivery speed to type of formatting.

Save Valuable Time With FAST Print Delivery

The FAST Print feature provides you with an easy-to-use shortcut for printing documents using LexisNexis delivery system settings, e.g., dual column print when available. (Make sure you have JavaScript® enabled in your browser. FAST Print is not available for Netscape® 4.7.)

One-time setup: Click the FAST Print button to select a printer as the default for this feature. Format for attached printer from the drop-down list and click Set. (You can change your default choice at any time by clicking the Preferences button in the top navigation bar.)

Specify Your Needs with the Print Link

It takes just a little more time, but you can click the Print link instead of the FAST Print button when you want to select specific options. For example, you can choose an easy-to-read, court-friendly dual-column format.

From the Print Documents form, you can:
  • Print to an attached printer using your word processor or document reader. Select the word processor or .pdf format from the pull-down list. When the application launches, go to the File menu and select Print in the word processor. You can also specify any of several print options, including dual-column formatting, font choices, use of bold, italics and underlining, page breaks and more.
or
  • Install a utility to enable printing without opening a word processor (if you have JavaScript enabled on your browser). After installing the utility, select an option from the Printer drop-down list on the form. Click Print and your document will print to your attached printer without having to open a word processor.
Save Online Time: Get & Print

When you have multiple citations and you need either full-text documents or Shepard’s®reports, you can save online time with the Get & Print feature.

1.  Click the Get a Document tab at the top of your screen and then the Citation secondary tab, or click the Shepard’s®tab at the top of your screen and then the Shepard’s®secondary tab.

2.  Click the Get & Print link toward the bottom of the form.

3.  If prompted, enter your sign-on information and click Sign On.

4.  In the Define Your Job form, enter citations, select report services, indicate delivery method and click Get.

Print via Your Internet Browser at No Extra Charge

You can print from your Internet browser to an attached printer at no charge. Click the Print link at the top-right area of your results screen or your browser’s printer icon—or go to your browser’s File menu and select Print from the pull-down menu.

Note: Printing through the Web browser literally prints the Web page you are viewing. No special formattinglike dual columns is available via this method of printing. Additionally, you will only print what is on the browser screen. For example, if you are printing the cite list, only the portion of the list that is currently displayed (e.g., 1 - 10 of 100) will be printed.

Print Text When That’s All You Need

If, while browsing documents, you'd like to view, print or save (download) only a document’s text, without the navigation bars, graphics or options on the screen―you have the no-charge option of clicking the Text Only link at the top-right corner of the screen. (If you need information on configuring your browser to open Microsoft® Office files appropriately, go to http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q162/0/59.asp)
