Charlie Sheen May Have Missed his Chance to Own "Tiger Blood"
As Charlie Sheen travels the country with his "Violent Torpedo of Truth" tour, he may have plans for some legal action, but not as a defendant. Gawker.com reports that Sheen will try to trademark 22 of his famous phrases, including:
- Tiger Blood
- Rock Star From Mars
- I'm Not Bi-Polar, I'm Bi-Winning
- Duh, Winning
- Adonis DNA
- Sober Valley Lodge
- Sheen's Goddesses
- Violent Torpedo of Truth
- Defeat Is Not an Option
- Vatican Assasin
This won't be Sheen's first foray into intellectual property law. In 1999 he apparently filed a patent design for a chapstick dispenser with an attached lid. That patent was granted in 2001 according to Gawker, The more ironic venture of Sheen's into the world of IP law is his 1998 trademark of the phrase, "Drugs are loser friendly." Then in 2005 a company he owns filed a trademark application for a line of children's sportswear called "Sheen Kidz."
As for "Tiger Blood," Sheen may be too late to the table. A line of soft drink syrups, nutritional supplements and energy drinks claims the mark "Tigers Blood," and recently filed suit to stop another company from using the name.
