LexisNexis Group Global CMO, Barbara Cooperman, Honored by the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York

On Wednesday, Barbara Cooperman, Global Chief Marketing Officer for LexisNexis Group, was honored at the 18th Annual Women of Distinction Breakfast hosted by the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York. Cooperman was honored along with six other women for inspiring through leadership.

In her acceptance speech while proudly displaying her Girl Scout sash, Cooperman noted that the tribute did not belong to her, but "to the 23,000 Girl Scouts who are the future citizens and leaders of our world and to all those who do the important work of keeping the Girl Scouts organization relevant and sustainable." Cooperman went on to acknowledge the opportunities that the Girl Scout organization provided in her life and noted the benefit of having an organization with strong female role models stating that "One benefit of an all-girl program is that all the leaders are girls - and this is powerful role modeling and formative life experience."

In addition to Cooperman, five other women were honored including Terri D. Austin, Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion, The McGraw-Hill Companies; Arlene Isaacs-Lowe, Senior Vice President, Moody's Investment Service; Vanessa Lau, Chief Financial Officer, Alcoa Global Rolled Products; and Nadja Swarovski, Vice President, International Communications, Swarovski.
