Sheila Nielsen has been a career counselor and executive coach for attorneys for over 20 years. She has worked with more than 3,500 lawyers, assisting them with career direction work, job searches, interviews, business development and other career problems. Lawyers at all stages of their careers seek out her help when they face difficult career issues.
Before working as a career coach, Sheila was an Assistant US Attorney in Chicago and, before that she was an Assistant States Attorney in Cook County. She is a trained counselor (MSW Bryn Mawr) and lawyer (JD Temple University).
Sheila has contributed to the field of career counseling for lawyers. She was a monthly columnist for Illinois Legal Times for four years and has written over 100 articles for a variety of legal publications. She has been an invited speaker at many events including the ABA, NAWL, NALP, and many local bar associations. She is in the process of finishing a book she has written on job search for lawyers for the ABA that is scheduled for publication January 2011.
