Insurer Had A Duty To Defend Grocery Store In Slip-And-Fall Suit, Judge Finds
LAS VEGAS - A janitorial service's agreement to defend and indemnify a client grocery store under its commercial general liability (CGL) insurance policy automatically obligated the service's insurer to defend the store in a customer's personal injury lawsuit, a Nevada federal judge ruled on Feb. 4 (USF Insurance Co. v. Smith's Food and Drug Center Inc., et al., No. 2:10-cv-01513, D. Nev.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 15473).
