Thorp Reed & Armstrong Appoints Partners To Key Leadership Positions

PHILADELPHIA — Thorp Reed & Armstrong LLP has named two of the firm’s partners to key leadership positions. Robert J. Ridge has been appointed head of Thorp Reed’s Litigation Department. Joseph M. Donley has been named partner-in-charge of Thorp Reed’s growing Philadelphia office.

Ridge, a partner with Thorp Reed since 2000, is the former practice group leader for the firm’s Commercial and Corporate Litigation Department and also serves on Thorp Reed’s executive committee. He has represented clients in a wide range of civil and criminal cases involving allegations of financial fraud and breach of fiduciary duties. His litigation experience includes the defense of clients in investigations conducted by the state's attorney general, the SEC, federal and state grand juries, the Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission and the Judicial Qualifications Commission.

Donley will continue to serve as practice group leader of the firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance Practice Group. He had previously served as the managing partner of Kittredge, Donley, Fullem, Elson and Embick, which merged with Thorp Reed in 2008. Donley concentrates his practice in complex civil litigation with an emphasis in the areas of insurance and reinsurance litigation.

Both attorneys succeed partner Ira Silverstein, who served in both roles and is leaving the firm to pursue new opportunities.

Since 1895, Thorp Reed & Armstrong LLP has been a Pennsylvania-based law firm that has grown to include additional offices in Philadelphia, Princeton, N.J., and Wheeling, W. Va. in addition to Pittsburgh. For more information, call 1-800-221-7029 or visit www.thorpreed.com.
