BMC Resources, Inc. v. Paymentech, L.P., 498 F.3d 1373 (Fed. Cir. 2007)

To carry its burden of proving infringement under 35 U.S.C.S. § 271(a), the patentee had to show that a single party either completed or directed others to perform every step of the asserted method claims; it failed to do so where the alleged infringer only performed some of the steps, and unrelated third parties completed the remaining steps.
