Check the settings in your program level setup for accounting. Are you using controlled or custom? You might be setup to prevent deleting transactions. Did you try first deleting the deposit? That may need to be done before you can delete or void the transaction.

In the Program Level Setup, under the Billing Tab, and then the Setup tab, the Assurance Level is marked as "Open." Under the Accounting tab I don't see anyplace to set anything as controlled or custom.

I was working from memory but the program level under billing was what I was referring to.
Do you have security turned on and any security settings setup under file - setup - users and security?
Those are the things I can think of without actually seeing what is happening.
