Service Pack 4 of PCLaw was released at 4pm on Wednesday, 6/16. Here is the announcement many of you would have received electronically:

LexisNexis® Practice Management is pleased to announce that PCLaw® Version 10 Service Pack 4 (SP4) is now available for download at no additional cost to customers who subscribe to the LexisNexis PCLaw Annual Maintenance Plan (AMP). This software update provides the latest enhancements to improve PCLaw software performance and application operation, as well as, new support outlined below. We encourage you to upgrade to PCLaw v10 SP4 to insure your application is up-to-date and to facilitate responsive technical support from LexisNexis.

PCLaw v10 SP4 functional enhancements include:

• Amicus Attorney® 2010 Certification
• LexisNexis® University Quick Step icon enabling direct access to the LexisNexis University home page from within PCLaw as well as your current classes and profile information
• 64-bit support—Windows Vista® and Windows® 7 (including links for third-party plug-ins)
• International changes for NZ, AU and Canadian Markets

Upgrade Instructions

In addition to the Live Update automatic upgrade feature within the PCLaw product, you also have the option to manually download your copy of the latest release from the following Web site: www.pclaw.com/techpage.

PCLaw SP4 can be installed as an upgrade over an existing PCLaw system; however, as a best practice before any system upgrade we recommend the following:

• Perform a full and complete backup of your PCLaw data.
• Backup any other application data which links with PCLaw.
• Close all other applications prior to starting the install.

Due to the size of your data, it may take longer to convert across the network. If possible, we recommend you install and perform the conversion on the server computer.

Download and Installation Instructions

1. Download your copy of PCLaw SP4.
2. Print the Release Notes and "What’s New" documents.
3. Close PCLaw. We also recommend closing all other applications.
4. To proceed with the installation, double-click the downloaded file. The Welcome window appears.
5. Read the license agreement thoroughly. If you agree to the terms, click Accept. The installation continues.
6. Click Next to continue.
7. The Ready to Install window appears and displays what is about to be installed on the computer. Verify the information presented and click Start.

Once the PCLaw installation is complete, you may be prompted to restart your computer. If you have any technical questions during the upgrade process, you may contact Customer Support at 800-387-9785.
