This issue has spontaneously fixed itself. My guess is once everyone got out of TM and then came back in something reset and solve the problem.

I'm having the same issue. TM 8 Pro SR2D. I tried previewing / printing the audit file, but the report screen is blank. There are no files to print. So I did a search of the database directory on our server and found the audit logs. The latest one was created today (7/23/10) and today was when all the Master Audit File message showed up. I tried

The Power management settings were checked on the computer in question and on all the rest of our computers as well. We have 6 users on our network all running XP Pro and only the one is having issues. I'll test it for a bit to see if the change alleviates the problem. Thanks for your help. I'll follow up later.

TM 8.0 SR2D. Program just shuts down at random. We're not doing anything in particular. It shuts down mostly while just opening or viewing a matter. And not any particular matter. This happens with random matters. This has happened several times over the past couple of days and is increasing in frequency. Have restarted the computer and run database

Problem solved. I called TM support and they didn't know what caused the problem, but offered 2 solutions. Either manually delete the duplicates or restore from backup. I was originally worried that if I deleted the duplicate matters it would also affect the originals because both had the same matter #. That wasn't the case. The original matters

And a new wrinkle. There are duplicate Notes, too. They're duplicated inside the original matter, not the duplicated matter. Every duplicate note is dated 12/9/08--the same date as the duplicate matters.

I recently setup a Palm for a co-worker and performed several syncs as tests. The syncs aren't setup on any particular schedule. The created and modified dates are consistent for every duplicate (12/9/08). I went back in to the Palm sync manager today (12/11/08) and checked all the settings. Nothing looks out of the ordinary. Thank you and Susi for your help. We ended up getting a new computer (for reasons other than the TM messenger issue). I implemented some of the changes you suggested on other computers to hopefully avert this problem in the future.
