Thank you Caren for your reply. Two questions: Any idea of why this problem is happening? Why is an NAS not good for db apps? This old version of TM seems to be flying and is very stable since the transfer and I don't think that the autoname problem is connected. Thanks, David

Hi Folks. TM5 Prof. on SBS 2003 domain network with XP Prof. and Windows 7 Prof. stations. Data resides on a shared folder on an NAS server and Files folders reside on a different shared folder on the same server. When adding a new document, autoname works as designed on some Matters but not others. At times it tries to overwrite an existing document

Caren: Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately for us, that transfer was done when the data was moved over to the new server. Our stations look for the TM data as follows: servername\\tmw5e\data. Therefore, the bills should be found, as they are in the data\files\bills\year\month folders. When we prepare the bills from the billflow manager, they are saved

Hi there, wjtrawick!!! I have not resolved my issue. What do you mean that you copied the files to the new location and it's working. Can you be specific? Thanks, David

Hi Sandra: Thanks for the advice. We have recently tried that and we have confirmed that it works. However, that means that we would create a security issue by giving administrator rights to every user. Or am I misunderstanding your suggestion? Are you saying that, once installed, the user's privileges would go back to something less than administrator

Good morning Matt: Thanks for your quick reply. The "save copy to disk" options is checked. Indeed, the system creates a pdf file if the bill is created at the server or at the W2k workstation. As to your point #2, how can I check if there is a pdf driver in each of the other workstations. Is this something installed by the TM program. How

Hello again good folks! I just posted a message regarding another problem that we are experiencing and saw this post that I filed in May. We have not been able to resolve this problem of being unable to reprint bills. We have worked around it by keeping paper copies of the invoices and by scanning that copy and placing it in the appropriate folder in

Good morning! David Donet, Sr., Miami FL here. We bought a couple of new computers with WXP Prof preinstalled. After installing TM/BM 5.0 Enterprise (with SR2 ) and WordPerfect 9.0 (SR3), we are experiencing the problem referred to above. On one machine, we get this error even if logged on as an administrator. On the other, no errors if logged on as

Hi folks: Sorry for the late reply. Had to travel out of state for the funeral of a relative and I was swamped when I returned. I will try the various solutions suggested but I think it's going to be the "hard wired code" problem. I wonder if - therefore - the problem is that the data folder was set as "tmw5e\etc." by our IT

Greetings: David A. Donet, Esq., here from Donet & Donet, LLP, in warm and sunny Miami, Florida <g>. We have been using TM/BM for many years. We are running version 5.0. (Enterprise) on MSDE database. Recently, we had to replace one of our servers where the db was located and had an IT consultant move the db to the new server. However, since
