  • Re: Multiple remote TM installations w/o common server?

Just as It's hard to give legal advice by email because you're not able to have a dialog, it's hard to give practice management consulting advice by email for the same reason. Email is good for Yes or No answers. Having said that, a couple of thoughts: 1. Cheap option: You can easily morph a ToDo into an Email by copying the Memo field of

  • Re: Multiple remote TM installations w/o common server?

Unless this is a trick question, I'd say the answer is No. If you let us know what you are trying to accomplish, we might be able to give you a better answer. For example: If you want 10 people working remotely to use every function in Time Matters, then you'd need to use Remote Desktop/Citrix or some other kind of remote control software. If

  • Re: Split screen with ToDo's

The answer is No, but Time Matters welcomes suggestions from users. This sounds like a good one to me. Send it to PMIdeas@lexisnexis.com .

  • Re: "Holding" calendar dates until date is set

Many possibilities. One is: Enter the first date. Preface Desc with ? mark so you know it's just penciled in. CTRL+Y to enter additional dates quickly. When date is agreed upon, on Case form Related tab with only Events selected (so you get the tag box), or on an Events tab that you've created, tag the ones you want to delete, Process, Delete

  • Re: Increase Memo field maximum allowed character/lines

The memo field character limits are: Matter: 5200 Email, Notes, and other supporting records: About 32,000 The limits cannot be changed. If you are exceeding these limits, you are not using Time Matters "correctly." The data should be stored in a more granular fashion to make it easier to find. How are you going to find any information in

  • Re: Contact records crash TM(

You've certainly done a good bit of troubleshooting. Sounds like a db problem. You might want to run Time Matters from the server to confirm that. If it does run from the server, then maybe it's related to connectivity. It appears you are on the Professional Edition. How big is your db? How big is are the contact tps files? If you "restore"

  • Re: Audit changing of Charge Status field on the Billing Item Form

You are correct that Charge Status is not a customizable field. However, you can set a Trigger to send you a Message when that field (which for some reason is labeled "Bill Status" in the Trigger's field lookup). You could also set up different triggers to make the Message specific if the field is being changed to No Charge, etc.

  • Re: Display Lname, Fname of Client on Matter List - What's the Trick?

Best practice is for the case RefName to be "LastName, FirstName" and then perhaps "-PI" or similar to make the name unique, and to require unique names in Program Level Setup > Forms > Cases. That makes it simple to see a list of clients by last name. How else would you want to see them? Even if they're named otherwise

  • Re: Accessing Outlook Express Inbox subfolders or other folders from TM Inbox

No. I believe the design of the MAPI connection is limited by Microsoft to accessing just the default Inbox folder, so the there's nothing Time Matters can do about the limitation.

  • Re: MobileTM - DataEquity/OTB Consulting - Time Matters

Expanding on Karen's post, I would say that Microsoft terminal services (or Citrix) would solve your problem. Any competent network support company can discuss your needs and spec out the best solution. It is not a Time Matters-specific solution at all, although having someone knowledgeable in Time Matters review the specs would be a good idea.
