  • How can I add missing Reference Names in Contacts

I have many Contacts that are missing Reference Names. I dunno why. Is there a way to automatically populate that field with {First Name} {Last Name}? I can easily filter to show {LName} not blank AND [RefName} is blank, and I can copy either {FName} or {LName} to the RefName field, but I don't know how to add both first and last names to that field

  • Re: Storing Retainer info in TimeMatters/billingmatters

I don't know any way to get an alert when billable time > x hours (or when billable time > $retainer). But this idea might at least get you partly there: Add a column to your Matter List that shows the Fund1 Balance (or Fund2, whichever you use for retainer fees) along with a column showing Billed Fees. (This is easy to do: With your Matter

  • Can I hide a bank account?

Folks: Is there any way to hide bank accounts? I have several bank accounts that I no longer use (changed banks, etc.), and they clutter up my list of accounts. This is annoying and slows me down when I am doing deposits. Thanks! -Micah

  • Trouble emailing bills

Folks: When I try to email a bill, I get an error message: "______" is not a valid Time Matters UserID. What is causing this? It is set up to send an email, not an internal message (I think!). Can anyone help? Thanks. -Micah

  • Re: Setting Quality of Service?

Great. Thanks. I checked that and you are right. For quality of service, I set my switch to give high priority to traffic FROM any port with destination 1433 TCP. Is that right, or do I have it backwards? -Micah

  • Setting Quality of Service?

Folks: We have set a high priority quality of service in our switch for our VOIP telephone extensions to ensure good sound quality. But I believe that it is interfering with Time Matters, because our users are getting some sort of file unavailable error messages. I would like to give TM a high priority, but I don't know how to do that, since it

  • Itemize ONLY Additional Charge items on bill with flat fee arrangement?

Folks: I have many clients for whom the bulk of our work is done on a flat fee basis, but often I also do additional work which is to be billed hourly. My Bill Profile for flat fee cases does NOT show Time Charges at all (instead, I use Billing Messages). But I would like to show time charges when we have additional billed items. Is there any way to

  • How can I change APs into credit card charges?

Folks: I have a whole series of Accounts Payable entries that SHOULD have been credit card charges. Is there some way to fix that? If I write a check from my bank account to pay the Payables could I then transfer funds from the credit card to my operating account to cover the check? If so, would I do that with a Credit Card Charge Form or just a GL

  • How can I pay a partial invoice?

I have a vendor to whom we pay a fixed amount each month as against invoices coming in. So I might have invoices of $60, $60, and $90 but I will pay $100 each month. That $100 does not match any particular invoice amount. How can I pay that partial invoice?

I've never used triggers and don't really know how they are to be used. Can you all help me better understand them -- specifically as it relates to this issue? Thanks!
