Kevin has 25 years experience counseling clients concerning D&O liability issues. He began his distinguished career in the Executive Liability insurance field as a coverage attorney and Partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Ross, Dixon & Bell, one of the nation's premier coverage firms. In 1995, Kevin joined Genesis Professional Liability Underwriters, a D&O underwriting facility, first as head of claims and then as President. Kevin successfully led Genesis for nearly ten years as it pioneered a unique approach to securities litigation loss prevention and an innovative underwriting methodology based on quantitative analysis of securities litigation exposures.
Peter M. Gillon is a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. Mr. Gillon has achieved national recognition for his experience in representing major corporate policyholders-from airlines to energy companies-in their dealings with insurance companies, both in claims disputes, and in transactions, such as insurance placement or structuring liability transfers. His areas of focus include executive liability (D & O, fiduciary, fidelity, EPLI), disaster-related property and business interruption loss, and pollution liability. Mr. Gillon's significant representations include litigation of United Airlines' business interruption claims arising from the 9/11 terrorist attacks, negotiating an energy company's precedent-setting settlement of coverage claims arising from multi-billion dollar securities class actions, and litigating the first bad faith claim involving an environmental cost-cap policy.
