Samuel A. Khalil is a senior associate in the Financial Restructuring Group of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP and is based in the New York City office. Mr. Khalil has represented creditors, debtors, and other interested parties in chapter 11 reorganization cases, international insolvencies, and out-of-court restructurings in the United States and abroad. Mr. Khalil also has extensive experience negotiating debtor-in-possession financing and adequate protection arrangements, negotiating and structuring reorganization plans, and representing acquirors and sellers of assets of chapter 11 debtors and financially distressed companies. His engagements have ranged across a wide array of industries, including energy, chemicals, financial services, automotive, pharmaceuticals, satellite, restaurant, consumer goods, and real estate. Mr. Khalil is a graduate of Hofstra University (B.A., 1988; J.D., cum laude, 2003), where he served as an associate editor of the Hofstra Law Review and was the recipient of the Benjamin Weintraub and Alan Resnick Bankruptcy Law Award. Mr. Khalil is also a recipient of the Distinguished Bankruptcy LawStudent Award from the American College of Bankruptcy.
