Yi Song

Yi Song is a licensed attorney in New York State and she also passed the national bar examination in the Peoples Republic of China. In 2010 Yi graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC with the Masters of Law degree. During her studies at Georgetown Law, she received honor for legal research and writing course. She obtained the dual Bachelors degrees in Law and English Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2007. She represented her school to participate the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and made the Top 5 Team in the China Round.

Before joining Mona Shah & Associates, Yi worked at a midtown boutique law firm focusing on securities litigation and class action lawsuits. She also worked for Professor Susan Roosevelt Weld at Georgetown Law-Asia writing and researching on the Open Government Information Act in China. Yi has diverse work experience in Beijing and Washington, DC including PricewaterhouseCoopers; a DC-based NGO US China Education Trust; the largest Chinese law firm King & Wood and she also clerked at the Supreme Court of Peoples Republic of China, the highest court in the country.

Yi was admitted to practice as an Attorney and Counselor at Law in the State of New York in January 2011 and before the Southern District Court of New York in November 2011. She was granted admission to the bar in Peoples Republic of China in February 2009. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Yi enjoys canvas oil painting, reading and traveling. She is a native speaker of mandarin Chinese. She also speaks fluent English and basic French.
