D.C. Circuit Says Widowers Have Standing To Challenge HUD Regulation

WASHINGTON, D.C. - A District of Columbia Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel on Jan. 4 ruled that two widowers challenging a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regulation concerning reverse mortgages have standing to bring a claim under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) because the agency has authority to provide relief (Robert Bennett, et al. v. Shaun Donovan, in his capacity as Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, No. 11-5288, D.C. Cir.; 2013 U.S. App. LEXIS 213).
