Just as in baseball when rosters expand in September from 25 to 40 players to allow minor leaguers a shot at big league action, Boston-based 200 attorney firm Brown Rudnick announced today that they are calling up 11 previously deferred new associates.

From the National Law Journal:

Saying it needs to tackle a surge in bankruptcy and litigation work, Brown Rudnick is shelving deferred start dates for 11 first-year associates.

Under the plan, first reported by the Boston Business Journal, the firm will have the associates start on Sept. 14 instead of Nov. 30.

The good news here is not just that these first-years will get to collect a paycheck and start paying down their student loans sooner, but that the firm believes this work is sustainable enough to build up their pipeline and bring fresh young talent to the table to help with it.
