In Michigan, State Mandates Cost Local Governments $2.2 Billion
A new study worth reading was released by the Commission on Legislative Mandates. The report shows that the staet mandates cost local governments more than $2.2 billion a year... If the states want something done, they should pay for it and not foist the financial responsibility on the local governments.
