Connecticut Dems Consider Taxing TARP Bonuses

Connecticut's Senate Democrats are casting an envious eye on the bonuses paid to employees of investment banks and insurers that received funds from the federal Troubled Asset Relief Program. In fact, some senators are thinking of taxing the bankers and insurers and using the money to help small business... The Republicans are all for helping small business with tax cuts, but would like to do so without taxing rich financial guys. The GOP claims that the Democrats are taking a political shot at a convenient target. As the former Governor of Alaska would say, you betcha.
