The Multinationals Are Coming! The Multinationals Are Coming!

Make no mistake about it, the jobs numbers reported this morning were not bad, they were terrible; they were horrific.

I waited to watch President Obama address the numbers. For me, when he finally did, he said nothing new and stuck to his usual talking points, proving, I suppose, that the administration's approach to the jobs crisis is the only "shovel ready" project we have seen so far.

I'm not a big believer in targeted tax breaks. But at least tax breaks for corporate jets create jobs - jobs building them, maintaining them, providing tires for them to land on. Targeting a tax break to let multinationals bring back their stashed cash almost tax-free will do nothing for the country - except, perhaps, remind us who's really running it.
