Does God Hate Carried Interest?

President Obama is getting grief about comments he made at the National Prayer Breakfast earlier this week that his call for tax increases on the rich "coincides with Jesus's teaching."

Well, at the risk of getting pummeled myself, I understand where he's coming from. I have stated many times that one - and it's just one - of the reasons I support a progressive income tax is because of my Judeo-Christian upbringing. As a result of that upbringing, I believe that for those of us to whom more is given, more is expected.

I'm glad I live in a country where one can think out loud: What would Jesus think of carried interest? The President gets to do that, too. Someone ought to tell folks like Orrin Hatch to lighten up, or not - Senator Hatch lives in a country where he is allowed to criticize the President all he wants, even while making himself look small in the process.
