Controversial Franchisee Misclassification Case Set for Trial in U.S. District Court

BOSTON, MA - Today trial has been set in the controversial case being heard in the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts, over whether Coverall North America, Inc., a commercial-cleaning franchise headquartered in Florida, misclassified its franchisees in various states as independent contractors. The franchisees claim they are employees and should receive minimum wage, overtime pay and other employment benefits, including workers' compensation coverage. The trial will also determine whether Coverall committed unfair and deceptive business practices.
