LexisNexis Launches Lexis Practice Advisor, Providing Attorneys Fast Access to Practical Guidance for Transactional Matters
New Web offering combines "how to" information, practice notes, checklists, forms and model documents to help complete transactions confidently and more efficiently
January 12, 2012 — NEW YORK – LexisNexis® Legal & Professional (www.lexisnexis.com), a leading provider of content and technology solutions, today announced the launch of Lexis® Practice Advisor – an innovative new Web solution delivering trusted content from leading practitioners to help attorneys handle transactional matters more confidently and negotiate and draft effective documents for their clients in a more time-efficient manner.
"There are approximately 500,000 attorneys in the U.S. who handle transactional matters, accounting for an estimated $56 billion in legal services provided annually," said Suzanne Petren Moritz, vice president and managing director of Lexis Practice Advisor. "By providing the most relevant and useful templates, forms and practical guidance from leading attorneys – along with supporting primary law and legal analysis – Lexis Practice Advisor helps these many thousands of business lawyers drive better outcomes for their clients."
From the experienced attorney looking to address routine matters more efficiently, to an associate getting up to speed on a topic, Lexis Practice Advisor provides a starting point for all attorneys handling transactional matters. The new Web offering delivers access to original content written and enhanced by leading practitioners from some of the most highly regarded law firms, working with the LexisNexis® team of legal editors. This content is supplemented by quick and easy access to on-point legal resources including select cases, codes and analytical materials from trusted LexisNexis® brands such as Matthew Bender®. The easy to navigate interface allows attorneys to immediately surface the content and information needed – ranging from a quick overview and "how to" guidance to checklists, forms and precedents, legal analysis, or cases, codes and news.
Lexis Practice Advisor will feature specific transactional practice areas and leading jurisdictions, which will be addressed by different modules such as 'Business Law' and 'Financial Restructuring and Bankruptcy.'
As part of the LexisNexis strategy to collaborate with customers to create innovative new solutions to meet the needs of specific groups of legal professionals, Lexis Practice Advisor was developed with ongoing input and feedback from more than 500 transactional attorneys.
"I cannot say enough about the new Lexis Practice Advisor product. It is exceedingly functional, informative and easy to use. I have strongly recommended this product to my firm," said Amanda R. Gerstnecker of Pittsburgh-based Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP.
The first Lexis Practice Advisor module to launch will be 'Business Law,' which covers commercial, contracts and corporate legal topics. This will be followed by 'Financial Restructuring and Bankruptcy' coming in spring 2012, with additional modules, practice area, jurisdiction- and industry-specific content coming thereafter.
Lexis Practice Advisor is offered on an annual all-inclusive subscription basis. It is available as a stand-alone product or in conjunction with a lexis.com® subscription.
