I work with the appellate team in our law firm and in our jurisdiction we're expected to provide hyperlinks to case law for the citations referenced in briefs. This used to be a very time-consuming process because I had to navigate away from the brief, log onto lexis.com, and type in the citations to retrieve the case law. Now that LexisNexis is integrated with Microsoft Word, all the case law is retrieved with one step. Since a single brief can require anywhere from 30 to 60 case citations that need to be retrieved for hyperlinking, the integration of Microsoft Word with lexis.com legal research saves me as much as two hours for every brief I'm asked to review, Shepardize and hyperlink.
