  • Gain more direct control over filing and service activity—for you and/or your staff
  • A superior alternative to paper and fax filing—easier and more efficient
  • Easy online fee payment via credit card—with no account set-up charges or subscription fees
  • Access your own documents online

FEATURES

Eliminate suspense and avoid surprises

  • Online filing receipt. Receive instant access to an online filing receipt that confirms your document has been filed with the court.
  • Online proof of service. View the status of all deliveries with instant access to online proof of service reports.
  • Online access to the complete case file, 24/7. Use broad look-up and reporting functionality to access detailed information about your cases. Instantly access newly-filed documents. (Basic users can access only their own documents online.)

Gain more control over filing & service

  • Attach supporting documents. Electronically "staple" supporting documents to main documents. For example, attach an exhibit to an answer.
  • Seal documents. Assign "sealed" status to documents so that only you, others in your firm, the firm(s) you are serving and the court can view them. (Basic users cannot give access to others in their firm.)
  • Automatically updated service lists. Individual law firms no longer have to struggle to maintain service lists—the automatically updated service list is available online to all parties in the case. (Basic users maintain their own service lists, which can be saved in the system and used for future filings.)
  • Private service. Select recipients from the service list in order to limit exposure of confidential or sensitive information. Some electronic filing service providers give you only two options: serve everyone on the list or serve no one electronically.
  • Service-only. Use File & Serve for service-only transactions, such as discovery. Designate your service-only transactions as private or public.
  • Online payment of statutory court fees. LexisNexis pays the court fees as soon as you’ve completed your transaction (if court rules permit). You receive a consolidated monthly invoice (online) for both court fees and File & Serve fees. Client/matter codes you enter for each transaction will appear on your invoice. (Basic users pay court fees online per transaction, via credit card.)
