The ADAM Program

According to the FBI, last year alone there were more than 400,000 children reported missing to law enforcement in the United States.1 Many missing children are recovered quickly, but others lead to searches that last for months, years, or even decades. This terrifying reality led a team of our associates to work nights and weekends to develop the ADAM(SM) (Automated Delivery of Alerts on Missing children) program, which was dedicated for use by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

ADAM uses fax technology to distribute missing child posters to police, news media, schools, businesses, medical centers and other recipients within a specific geographic search area, such as a state, ZIP code, area code or a combined search area near a city and ZIP code.

How It Works

  1. NCMEC sends a photo and details of a missing child incident to ADAM, including a geographic area believed to be the search target.
  2. ADAM examines a database of all possible recipients of the NCMEC poster and finds just those within a designated mile radius of the search area.
  3. ADAM transmits the data and photo of the missing child to targeted recipients.

Since it began in 2000, ADAM has helped in the recovery of 142 missing children.

How Can I Help?

If your company or business would like to participate in the ADAM Program by receiving missing children alerts in your area via fax, please complete the form below. Your information will be verified by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children before it is added to the ADAM recipient list.
