Bookmarking Other Screens

Bookmarking in LexisNexis® Congressional

You can bookmark searches on the Advanced form so that you have a link to a preset search. Some customers, for example, might like to create a bookmark to a search preset to include only the U.S. Serial Set Collection.  The examples below illustrate different types of bookmarked searches.

To bookmark the Advanced Search page

Use:  

http://web.lexis-nexis.com/congcomp/form/cong/s_pubadvanced.html

To bookmark specific document types from the Advanced Search page

Use the base URL http://web.lexis-nexis.com/congcomp/form/cong/s_pubadvanced.html?srcboxes and add the text below the document type.  

Committee Prints (all dates)

=ComPrints&DateRestrictionControl=ALL

Serial Set (default date set to Prior to 1970)

=SerialSet

Serial Set Maps (default date set to Prior to 1970)

=SSMaps

CRS Reports (all dates)

=CRSReports&DateRestrictionControl=ALL

Hearings (all dates)

=Hearings&DateRestrictionControl=ALL

House and Senate Documents (all dates)

=HSDocs&DateRestrictionControl=ALL

House and Senate Reports (all dates)

=HSReports&DateRestrictionControl=ALL

Legislative Histories (all dates)

=LegisHist&DateRestrictionControl=ALL

For multiple document types bookmarked

Simply add “srcboxes=DOCUMENTTYPE&” after the first ampersand. For example, for Hearings and Committee Prints use:

http://web.lexis-nexis.com/congcomp/form/cong/s_pubadvanced.html?srcboxes=Hearings&srcboxes=ComPrints&DateRestrictionControl=ALL

To change the DATES in the search

Use the following text after the 2nd equals sign in the URL:

Example: Committee Prints for the previous 5 years

http://web.lexis-nexis.com/congcomp/form/cong/s_pubadvanced.html?srcboxes=ComPrints&DateRestrictionControl=5:YR

Note:  Because there are de facto date restrictions for Serial Set and Serial Set Maps, the date restrictions cannot be changed for these two selections.
