How do I…?

Set up a new alert?
  1. Click the "Set up new Continuous Alert" tab.
  2. Enter your search terms in the Search Terms textbox. See Search Tips for help with connectors.
  3. Select your sources. See Sources for more help.
  4. Select your Factiva Intelligent Indexing™ options. See Factiva Intelligent Indexing™ for more help.
  5. Select your delivery options. You must give the alert a name and enter an email address for delivery, at a minimum.
  6. Click the "Continue - Test Search" button.
  7. Review the results.
Get my alert emails to show up in my Inbox?

If you have set up an alert and if you've checked to make sure the email address is correct, and if you're still not seeing the email appear in your Inbox, check to make sure that it has not been redirected to a filter, spam, or junkmail folder. If you find your alert emails in such a folder, use your email application's options to define Factiva as someone you trust. The methods you use to do this differ depending on which email application you use. Contact Customer Support if you still do not receive your alerts in your email.

View my alert headlines?
  1. If necessary, click the "Currently tracking" tab.
  2. Click the link for the alert whose headlines you want to view.
  3. Click the "Delete Selected" link.
  4. You can choose to view the information in one of two ways:
Edit an existing alert?
  1. If necessary, click the "Currently tracking" tab.
  2. Click the Edit link corresponding to the alert you want to change.
  3. Modify your search terms or other options, as desired. See the "Factiva terms and connectors?" and "What's this?" links or Setting up a Continuous Alert" for help.
Set up a mobile login?
  1. Click the "My Details" link near the upper right of the page.
  2. Click the "Set up mobile login" link.
  3. Select and copy the link in the pop-up window to an email addressed to your mobile device.
  4. When you receive the email on your mobile device, click the link in the email to start receiving your alerts on your mobile device.
Delete an alert?
  1. If necessary, click the "Currently tracking" tab.
  2. Click the checkbox corresponding to the alert(s) you want to change.
  3. Click the "Delete Selected" link.
  4. On the Delete an alert page, verify that you want to delete the alert name(s) listed.
Manage my alerts?
  1. If necessary, click the "Currently tracking" tab.
  2. Select the task you want to perform:
Modify My Details?
  1. Click the "My Details" link near the upper right of the page.
  2. Make your desired changes.
  3. Click the Save details button.
Complete the technical support contact information?
  1. Enter your email address.
  2. Enter your First Name.
  3. Enter your Last Name.
  4. (Optional) Enter the name of your company.
  5. Click the Accept checkbox next to the Continue button.
  6. Click the Continue button.
  7. Set up a new alert. See "Setting up a new Continuous Alert".
