Use the "Search within results" box to search for a more specific topic within your original results. This search retrieves a subset of your original results. When viewing your results, the "Search within results" feature appears on the right side of the Results form. Note: If you are viewing only tagged results, this feature is not available. Click a link below to read more. |

While viewing the results from your initial search, do the following:
Searching Within Results While Using Result Groups While the Result Groups form filters your results to a specific category or grouping, a search within results will always be run across your entire search results. When you search within results while using Result Groups, the narrowed list appears in the main content area to the right, and only those groups and sub-groups that contain the "Search within results" terms will appear in the Result Groups form to the left. Note: The Result Groups form is available in List and List with Hits view. Changing Your Search within Results If you narrowed your search too much, you want to change your research strategy, or you misspelled a word, you may run another search within your original results. To do that:
You can click the Filter by Date link to display the Search within results box. In this box, you can narrow your search by entering additional search terms (see the subtopics above) and/or you can narrow it to a specific date or date range that falls within the range of previously specified dates. Returning to Your Original Search Results To return to your original search results display from any narrowed search, click the Results tab at the top of the Results form. If you were using the Result Groups form in the List or List with Hits view prior to searching within your results, clicking the Results tab also takes you back to your original search results. |
