LexisNexis Proper Name Indexing
LexisNexis indexes proper names including companies, people, organizations and geographic entities. Controlled vocabulary terms for proper names are selected based on a variety of factors as indicated below. An authority list for the controlled index terms is maintained by the indexing team. In addition to controlled indexing, LexisNexis also extracts and indexes millions of additional proper names using entity recognition technology and normalization processes to identify, extract and normalize company, people and organization names.
