Stay Attuned to Recently Enacted Energy Legislation
(November 2005)

The new Energy Policy Act of 2005 was signed by President George W. Bush and became law on August 8, 2005. We’ve already fielded questions on this act, and we are ready to help you track the development and actions taken on this recent law.

Check out the progress and legislative actions taken in this law’s history by pulling up the bill tracking report. This report is available in several sources, including Federal Bills and Bill Tracking - Energy and Utility Bills. Take the following path to find this source:

Legal > Area of Law – By Topic > Energy > Statues & Legislative Materials > Federal > Federal Bills and Bill Tracking - Energy and Utility Bills

Retrieve the act in its final Public Law form by using LexisNexis® Get a Document.  To do that, click the Get a Document tab at the top part of your screen and enter the following cite in the Get by Citation entry field: 109 PL 58.

Interested in Congressional discussions and debates on the act prior to its enactment? Get those through the Congressional Record - Current Congress (109th) source. Use the following path to get there:

Legal > Legislation & Politics – U.S. & U.K. > U.S. Congress > Congressional Record – Current Congress (109th)

These options and more, including committee reports and hearing transcripts, are readily available on LexisNexis® services to assist you with your research needs.
