Determining Coverage Dates for a Specific Source
(August 13, 2004)

There are several ways you can find out the coverage of a specific source on the LexisNexis® services -- when coverage begins, ends and how frequently a source is updated.

If you are already logged on to www.lexis.com, simply drill down the source hierarchy in the Look for a Source box until you see it listed.  Then click on the Source Description, and a second browser window will open with a description of the source.

Alternatively, you can click on the Get a Document tab on the toolbar.  Click Party Name or Docket Number on the row just under the tabs.  Click Coverage Dates at the top of the Jurisdiction field to open the LexisNexis Services Coverage Dates screen in a second browser window.  You can display coverage information by clicking on Federal Courts, State Courts, State Codes or Secondary Sources.

If you are not logged on to www.lexis.com, you can find the coverage information using the Searchable Directory of Online Services, which you can access right from the InfoPro Web site, using the drop down menu entitled Research Tools for Librarians at the top of the screen.
