Automatic Update Results for News Searches
(September 23, 2005)

With lexis.com enhancements to Alert/Eclipse searches, you can now receive update results for your news searches automatically up to 3 times per day.

You now have more options than ever when saving search results as an Alert.  (Alerts have replaced the earlier Eclipses.)  On the Save as Alert form, you'll find several new options.

1) You can choose to save daily or business day searches and have results delivered to you 1, 2, or 3 times each day.  This is a great way to automatically run those searches when you are waiting for a story to hit the wires, without having to remember to re-run your search during the day. The update schedule is morning, noon, and late afternoon.

2) You can now choose to be alerted if there are no results. Just check the box that says “Alert me if there are no new results”.

3) You can now have duplicate results removed from your result.  This box is checked as the default. So, if you want to see all results, remember to uncheck this box on the “Save as Alert” form.
