Locating non-US company filings on lexis.com

The LexisNexis® services provide several sources that contain international company filings. The two sources reviewed here provide financial information on non-US companies.

• SEC Form 20-F
  
  This file contains the full-text of 20-Fs for all issues registered in foreign countries whose securities trade on the New York or American stock exchanges.  The Securities and Exchange Commission requires foreign issuers to file reports disclosing their financial condition, results of operations and any other information that is of significance to investor.
  
  Form 20-F is the report filed annually by foreign issuers six months after the end their fiscal year and is similar to a 10K filing.
  
  You can use the COMPANY segment to search for filing information on particular companies. For example, take the following steps to find a 20-F filed by Reed International:
  
  
  1. Click the Search tab.
  2. Click the News & Business source tab.
  3. Click the following links in the order listed to search SEC Form 20-F:
     Company & Financial / Financial Filings / U.S. Financial Filings / SEC Form 20-F
  4. Enter company (reed international) in the search field.
  5. Click Search.

• ICC Full-Text Quoted Company Annual Reports - International Company Profiles
  
  ICC is one of Britain’s leading providers of company and industry information.  This full-text file contains the complete text of the annual reports of British companies listed on the London Stock Exchange and the top 500 European companies. 
  
  For example, using the COMPANY segment again, locate Manchester United's most recent annual reports:
  
  
  1. Click the Search tab.
  2. Click the News & Business source tab.
  3. Click the following links in the order listed to search ICC Full-Text Quoted Company Annual Rpts - Int'l Company Profiles:
     
     Company & Financial / Financial Filings / European Financial Filings / ICC Full-Text Quoted Company Annual Rpts - Int'l Company Profile
     
     
  4. Enter company (manchester united ) in the search field.
  5. Click Search.

Within our results set we can then FOCUS  on sections within the annual reports, like the Chairman’s Statement or Accounting Policies.
