InfoPro Home > Training & Tutorials > Research Tips Using the LexisNexis Martindale.com Law Firm Comaprison Tool Use the LexisNexis Martindale.com Law Firm Comparison Tool to quickly compare up to four law firms. If your firm needs to refer a case to another firm because of a conflict or as an accommodation to an important client, you can now go to martindale.com and choose criteria such as area of practice, size of firm, office locations, educational background and attorney bar admissions. A side-by-side comparison chart will be produced that will enable your attorney to compare the credentials of the various firms or attorneys and choose the firm or attorney that best suits the needs of the client they are looking to refer. We will use the following as our example: To use martindale.com to accomplish the comparison, start on the Basic Search link and scroll down to “Browse by Law Firm”, choose the area of law, for our purposes we will choose “Trusts & Estates”, next we choose the location, Florida, then the city of Boca Raton. Now we have a list of attorneys and law firms from which to choose. We select four firms and click on “Compare Firms”. If you are not a registered user, you will have to fill in a registration form that will take a couple of minutes, and you will have to choose a sign-on id and a password. I suggest using your lexis.com id and password. Martindale.com Law Firm Comparison Tool confirms in my mind that Martindale-Hubbell is an evolving tool to help you and your firm find valuable information about attorneys and firms located across the United States and throughout the world.
