And the verdict is…?

Where can you find those elusive jury verdicts and settlements?  They are available in files throughout Lexis.com.  Looking for verdicts in a particular area of law?  Start with an Area of Law tab like Litigation or Insurance.  In the right-hand column you’ll see a folder for jury verdicts.  Choose the source that best suits your needs.  You’ll find combined files that include verdicts from multiple states as well as links to specific state sources and practice area specific sources.

You’ll notice on these pages a new source for jury verdicts called LexisNexis Jury Verdicts and Settlements.  The information in this file is compiled by legal news experts at LexisNexis Mealey’s. The source is searchable by segment (plaintiff, defendant, judge, attorney, etc.) and the results include the verdict/settlement breakdown, lists of experts and links to related court documents.

Looking for verdicts and settlements in a specific jurisdiction?  Start in the States-Legal area and choose the appropriate state.  As with the Area of Law tabs you’ll find the sources you need in the right-hand column.  Each state page includes a folder for Jury Instructions and Verdicts.  Choose the appropriate source from this category.
