Search and schedule alerts for litigation involving a patent or a class/subclass of patents

CourtLink now provides the ability to search for and set up alerts for patents by patent number, patent class or patent class/subclass, or all of the patent cases filed in a jurisdiction.

Patent Search

Enter a patent number or class, or select a district court

  • Entering a patent number displays all cases related to that patent.
  • Entering class information finds all cases related to that class and subclass.
  • Selecting a court displays all patent-related cases for that court.

If you represent clients who need to know as soon as litigation is filed where one or several of their patents is at issue, CourtLink can help you stay on top of this. Simple go to the Search Tab on CourtLink and choose “Patent Search”. Enter the patent number and you will have the list of cases your attorney needs.

If you want to track all of the litigation involving patents classified under a specific class and/or subclass this is an option. Simply fill in the Search template with the appropriate class/subclass and run the search. There is a link to the USPTO classification schedule to assist in finding the appropriate class/subclass number.

If your attorney wants to know every time a case if filed that involves a patent in a specific jurisdiction, you can choose a jurisdiction and search with this criteria.

You can search as narrowly as a patent number, as broadly as a patent class/subclass number, or as broadly as a jurisdiction.

Alerts can also be set up for each of these types of searches under the Alerts tab.
