50 State Insurance Surveys now available on lexis.com

LexisNexis editors have responded to requests for 50 state surveys, with the first of several to come, with one for insurance. The survey covers 79 topics of interest to attorneys practicing insurance law.

Insurance practitioners told us that since insurance is so heavily state regulated that they need the ability to compare state statutes and regulations relating to specific issues to advise their clients on how to comply with the rules of each state.

The surveys provide the ability to compare the rules and regulations across several or all fifty states.  Some of the issues covered include licensing and education requirements for adjusters and producers, surplus lines and filing and reporting requirements for insurers. Each survey includes the citation reference and a summary of the rule or regulation as well as a link to the full statute or regulation.

Searches can be performed of the TOC for all states or you can search the full text.
The Insurance Surveys can be found at: Legal > Area of Law - By Topic > Insurance > State Insurance Surveys > Analytical

I have found that the easiest way to see what topics have been covered in the Insurance Surveys is to select a state and expand the TOC. I now have the language to use for my full text search to pull together a 50 state survey.
