Searching for talk show transcripts on the LexisNexis® services
On the LexisNexis® services, you can search for talk show transcripts in several sources. The following are just a few of the available sources:
- ABC News Transcripts
- CBS News Transcripts
- NBC News Transcripts
- Fox News Network
- Federal News Service
- CNN Transcripts
- National Public Radio
CBS News Transcripts -- Use the SHOW segment to locate a specific television show's transcripts. For example, take the following steps to find 2005 transcripts of the show 60 Minutes:
- Click the Search tab.
- Click the News & Business source tab.
- Click the following links in the order listed to search CBS News Transcripts: Individual Publications / C / CBS News Transcripts.
- Click the radio button in front of Terms and Connectors.
- Enter show (60 minutes) and date is 2005 in the search field.
- Click Search.
ABC News Transcripts -- Use the SUBJECT and COUNTRY segments to locate transcripts on specific topics. For example, take the following steps to find ABC News Transcripts covering the Iraq war:
- Click the Search tab.
- Click the News & Business source tab.
- Click the following links in the order listed to search ABC News Transcripts: Individual Publications / A / ABC News Transcripts.
- Click the radio button in front of Terms and Connectors.
- Enter subject (war) and country (iraq) and date aft 5/2005 in the search field.
- Click Search.
Transcripts -- Use an HLEAD segment search to retrieve transcripts on a specific subject. For example, take the following steps to find transcripts from multiple networks discussing nutrition and fast food:
- Click the Search tab.
- Click the News & Business source tab.
- Click the following links in the order listed to search all Transcripts: Combined Sources / Transcripts.
- Click the radio button in front of Terms and Connectors.
- Enter hlead (nutrition and fast food) and date aft 2004 in the search field.
- Click Search.
