New Content from FactSet®

Through a recent licensing agreement, LexisNexis® has acquired compelling new content from FactSet. (You might already be familiar with a FactSet file, MergerStat®, which has been on lexis.com® for years.) The good news is that we’ve now added four additional files that will help you and your attorneys locate transactional information on mergers and acquisitions, locate precedents or “exemplars”/best practices in structuring deals, defend clients from unsolicited takeover bids, and assess takeover defenses of specific companies. FactSet provides access to the key information needed to analyze risk and return for deals, as well as support for those who specialize in takeover defenses and corporate governance!

Here are two insider tips that will help you “unlock” the secrets in two of the new FactSet files:

  • In FactSet Deal Advisors (News & Business > Company & Financial > Company Directors & Executives > FactSet Deal Advisors), if you are looking for the law firms involved in a deal, be sure to use both of the following segments: “legal advisor” or “advisor,” i.e. (legal advisor or advisor) /3 firmname. That way you’ll be sure not to miss anything.
  • If you are looking for a target company or acquiring company in FactSet MergerMetrics (News & Business > Company & Financial > Mergers & Acquisitions > FactSet MergerMetrics), use the following segments; “t-company” for the target, and “b-company” for the buyer or acquirer, i.e., t-company(bank one) or b-company(jp morgan).

For more information about FactSet and how to utilize these great new files, contact your Librarian Relations Consultant.
