ALI-ABA

The ALI-ABA is a joint project of the American Law Institute and the American Bar Association. Its main purpose is to produce Continuing Legal Education programs and publications. The ALI-ABA's full name is The American Law Institute - American Bar Association Committee on Continuing Professional Education.

Online Access: Lots of ALI-ABA materials are on Westlaw in the ALI-ABA database, including course handbooks (which usually have a "C" before the volume number. They can also be accessed, with a pinpoint cite, through the WestCheck or "Find" services.) Articles from The Practical Lawyer are searchable in the PRACLAW database. Articles from many ALI-ABA periodicals, including The Practical Lawyer, are searchable in the Lexis LAWREV library.

ALI-ABA "Course Study" materials are available on Lexis in the CLE library.

Hard Copy: You can buy ALI-ABA materials directly from the ALI-ABI, including back issues of many ALI-ABA periodicals. Alternatively, you'll find many ALI-ABA publications in larger academic, bar association and government law libraries either in hard copy or on microfiche. You can buy copies of articles from ALI-ABA periodicals from UMI.

The ALI-ABA Web site provides information about the ALI-ABA and posts a catalog of ALI-ABI publications (www.ali-aba.org).

Contact Information: The ALI/ALI-ABA's phone number is 800-253-6397. To order materials, ask for customer service. For questions about ALI-ABA materials, ask for Customer Service or the Library.
