WorkSmart Partners founder Mary McClatchey has added Daniel M. Kowalski as a Strategic Partner for I-9 compliance matters.

After a fifteen-year judicial career, Mary McClatchey, J.D., founded WorkSmart Partners to provide state-of-the-art compliance programs, while teaching leaders that managing the modern workforce with strong teams and a flexible culture is crucial to reducing legal exposure. As an employment law judge and mediator, Mary witnessed how difficult it is for leaders and managers to keep up with changes in the law. Dramatic transformations in the workforce, in technology, and in workers’ attitudes about how, where, and when they should work have changed the legal landscape. Mary started WorkSmart Partners to help executives, managers, and employees navigate these legal, demographic, and cultural changes in a balanced way that manages risk. Her mission is to help clients mitigate risk while strengthening business performance.

Dan Kowalski has been practicing immigration law exclusively since 1985. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Bender’s Immigration Bulletin, published by LexisNexis, Online Editor of the LexisNexis Immigration Law Community (ILC), Bender’s Immigration Bulletin – Daily Edition, and co-author of Immigration Enforcement: I-9 Compliance Handbook, published by LexisNexis. He tweets daily @dkbib.  A major part of Dan’s law practice involves I-9 compliance, representing employers in private audits and/or defense following an ICE raid or investigation.
