Division Two of the Court of Appeals filed 1 new published opinion and Division Three filed no new opinions on Tuesday, January 7, 2014:

State v. Z.U.E.
No. 43289-7
(January 7, 2014)
2014 Wash. App. LEXIS 2 (lexis.com)

2014 Wash. App. LEXIS 2 (Lexis Advance)

Areas: CRIMINAL LAW

Brief: Juvenile appealed his adjudication for possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), asserting that the trial court erred by denying his motion to suppress the marijuana, which was obtained during a search after an investigative stop of the juvenile and three other vehicle occupants. The Court of Appeals reverses the trial court's denial of the juvenile's suppression motion, vacates his conviction, and dismisses the charge with prejudice, holding that the stop was an unlawful seizure because the citizen informants' tips that led to the investigative stop did not have sufficient indicia of reliability and the police officers' observations were unable to corroborate the presence of criminal activity.
