Yaz MDL Judge Denies Class Certification For California Women Who Took Drug

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - The Illinois federal judge overseeing the Yasmin/Yaz/drospirenone multidistrict litigation on March 13 denied a motion to certify a class of California women who were influenced by two television commercials to buy the Yaz oral contraceptive rather than a cheaper contraceptive (In Re: Yasmin and Yaz Drospirenone Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation, MDL Docket No. 2100, No. 3:09-2100, Frances Burns v. Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, Inc., No. 3:09-2100, S.D. Ill.; 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 33183).
