New York Federal Judge Says Microsoft Employee's Claims Have No Merit

NEW YORK - Microsoft Corp. had a legitimate reason for firing a black employee who had not worked for months because of a medical leave, and the reason was not pretext for discrimination, a New York federal judge held March 27 in granting the company's motion for summary judgment on the former employee's wrongful termination claims (Alson Alston v. Microsoft Corp., No. 08-3547, S.D. N.Y.; 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 42119).
